From watermelon juice (Beyoncé went from singing about it to actually buying a stake in a drinks company) to floating yoga, we’re ready to get so on trend. Forget about kale – cauliflower is the new superfood you’ll be eating and according to Vogue, your wardrobe will be yellow. But what does 2017 hold for digital?

Over recent years the obsession with live content has taken over and is set to continue. In 2016 we welcomed Facebook Live to our screens, allowing us to keep up to date in the realest time possible for key events from our favourite brands. Instagram has since followed the trend, with Instagram Live which allows users to broadcast video to followers in real-time, however they can only watch while you’re still streaming.

Further predictions of 2017 include the rise of the Chatbots. With increased demand for instant interaction, more companies are set to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Google and Amazon for the latest way to communicate with your customers. Already, more than a third of people already prefer social media over a phone call for customer support, so get ready to make new cyber bffs.

Another key trend is the importance of movement, and we aren’t talking about a new gym routine. In online advertising, video reigns as king, with increasing dominance over still adverts. Think – if a picture speaks a thousand words…how many does a video speak? And of course the augmented reality trend will prosper as we all filter our lives and the desire for more virtual reality in general. 2017 – Bring it on!
