Twitter has recently started to investigate how businesses can sell their products directly from a single tweet and as part of this process, it’s about to launch a new way for advertisers to convert devoted Twitter followers to dedicated customers in-store.
This new feature, only currently available in the States, will allow advertisers to develop promotions, mainly in the form of redemptions, and share them directly with Twitter followers.
The Twitter user simply has to add their credit card number in a secure space below the offer, so when the credit card is used for purchase in store, the redemption will appear back on the users card within a few working days. But don’t worry, this space has been developed specifically for these new redemption offers and will encrypt your credit card data to keep it secure.
This feature allows Twitter business users to track real time redemption in store and enables effective measurement of return on investment.
We would be really interested to know your thoughts on this new feature. Is it something your business would consider using? Would you go shopping on Twitter?
